Bookshopping
I've been watching too many movies, it's time to hone my readings once again. Since finishing my finals I haven't touched a single book and that's not good. So for a couple of days I went book-shopping and managed to gather a few of these.
The nervousness of being a doctor has been kicking in a lot so I guess this book will do some good for me. Though the book is meant for UK doctors, most of the tips and guides offered here are pretty general too. Don't know whether I'll be able to make full use of it, but at least, I suppose, I'd be able to gain something from it. Here's hoping.
Offers some brief notes for many common diseases spanning various specialties in medicine, I bought this after not being able to find Oxford's version of it. Haven't gotten 'round in reading it just yet but planning to refresh my rusty brain soon while I am still not working. I bought this in hopes of it being able to sustain me until I managed to buy my own PDA (planning to get it by saving up instead of having it sponsored again...macam tak cukup je dengan Toshiba laptop, Tissot watch, and a downpayment of...something... plus many others etc etc...so for PDA, new phone, new digicam I plan to save up for myself). Yea, I'm doing this the old school way.
Manga - Team Medical Dragon, 1st bookAha...with two books pertaining to medicine I thought I'd get this Japanese comic revolving around the medicine world as well. This is about one renegade cardiothoracic surgeon Ryutaro Asada who is leading a team of medical personnels, determined to change the corrupt ways of the higher ups of the hospital where he's working in where chasing ranks of professorships is deemed more important than delivering utmost care for the patients. He does stuffs his way, kind of like Dr.House, and it's a really interesting read. Have finished reading it, I look forward in continuing to buy the next one when it's out.
Steering away from the medicine world I bought this manga about a single father whose wife has passed away, but before her death the wife promises him that she will return someday, and asks her husband to take her as she is when they meet again. Just as the single father and his 10-year-old son are moving on, the wife/mother returns, with no memory at all. But will it be forever, or just temporary? It has been adapted into silver screens, and news has it that Hollywood is interested in a remake of this story, starring and produced by Jennifer Garner. This is really a touching and beautiful story.
Firebird
A novel about Ilya, a Russian prince who is in search of a firebird who has appeared to him once as a beautiful woman, and his journey across a fantastical version of Russia after being exiled by his king father and his brothers. I've read about this before when I was in high school from a book of famous fairytales given to me by my folks, and seeing this book while browsing around, I grabbed it instantly. I have read the shortened form of this story before from a book of world's most famous fairytales, but over the years I've forgotten about it. I remembered about it when I was in Russia but couldn't find the book (even if I did, it would be in Russian I wouldn't buy it anyway). Luck be with me, I found it today while book-shopping.

team medical dragon mmg besh..
Ibu - Manga ni ada macam2 genre. Kreatif betul pelukis manga ni kadang2.
Hanna - Ooo. Team Medical Dragon ada series ke? Would love to watch it if I can get my hands on it. Any pointers? :)
Adry - Senervous orang yg nak pergi kerja je actually, tapi sb ni deal dgn human lives so cuak pun adalah jugak.
Syam - Ada rasa lagi puas bila dapat pegang buku and baca. Lagipun boleh baca kat mana2 jugak, kalau soft copy cuma bila bukak laptop je boleh baca.
