Good Karma, Bad Karma

Two days spent hibernating due to sudden sickness, plus not being able to cover all stuffs needed for the Therapy exam, I went to the exam hall praying that I'd get those that I managed to cover. It happened at times.

Not this time though.

Out of four questions I got, I was only confident of one, while the other three I had to really rake my brains to come up with some passable answers. Those were the kind of questions that I have conveniently overlooked, thinking that something so focused and specific like that probably wouldn't get asked. Big mistake. I got close to zero fighting chance for one of the three unanswerables. I only managed to come up with some half-half sort of answers for two, based on a broader knowledge of the whole thing. Good enough to scrape a pass, not good enough to merit anything more than that.

The examiner, who knew me because she had taught me in classes, looked at me closely before asking: "Nik, are you tired?"

And I thought: Am I still bearing the traces of those two days of sickness?

I just nodded. She nodded back sympathetically.

Ah well, I can probably think of many times where I've been lucky. Today's not the day, that's all. The good news is that I'm still lucky enough to have passed one major exam, which is great with a capital G. One exam's done with, for good, now it's Pediatrics, Obsgyn and Surgery exams left. With a throat that is still a bit sore and a body that still demands an infant's sleep schedule, I just hope I'm gonna get through all these in one piece.

Moral of the story: Study everything! :D
